The Cyberabad Economic Offences Wing (EOW) recently arrested six people accused of plotting to seize government land valued at Rs 600 crore, spanning 12.09 acres.
They allegedly used forged documents to manipulate records and make them appear genuine.
The arrested individuals are Mohd Abdul Razzak, Naveen Kumar Goyal, J. Guru Sai Raj, who is a Senior Assistant and the in-charge Sub-Registrar of Ranga Reddy District, Mohd Abdul Adil, Syeda Kouser, and Afsha Sara. Authorities stated that the suspects created fraudulent documents and entered illegal development agreements on government land.
This scheme was reportedly carried out with the assistance of the in-charge Sub-Registrar of Ranga Reddy District. The accused allegedly conspired to develop a large-scale commercial and residential complex spanning 19 lakh square feet over 39 floors.
The investigation found a major plan to take over government land in Raidurgam worth Rs 600 crore using fake documents and altered records.
Although the land is restricted, it was still registered in Ranga Reddy District, hinting that private developers and officials may have worked together in this forgery scheme.
The Telangana Leather Industries Promotion Corporation Limited (TSLIPCO) legally owns and has long held this government land in Raidurg Paigha village, Serilingampally Mandal.
This land, covering 12 acres and 9 guntas, is a valuable property in a prime area. Recently, TSLIPCO entered a lease agreement with the Telangana State Trade Promotion Corporation Limited (TSTPC) for the construction of a Unity Mall on 5.16 acres of this land. The Government of India has allocated Rs 202 crore for this project.
